2022 vs 2023 Chevrolet Colorado

2022 vs 2023 Chevrolet Colorado
If you live around Cedar, St. Paul, or Minneapolis, you want a vehicle that can stand up to the rough conditions you may face. You might also be looking for an efficient, capable mid-size truck that offers the versatility you want. The Chevrolet Colorado is the ideal choice for buyers who want the benefits of a truck without investing in a full-size model. If you’re trying to decide between models, here are some areas to compare for the 2022 and 2023 models of the Chevy Colorado.
The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is an all-new pickup with numerous updates and a new style for this truck. This model year even comes with a new powertrain for the strength you need and a new cabin to make your travels more enjoyable.
A Redesign of the Colorado in 2023
Redesigning the Chevy Colorado has increased its size slightly. The Crew Cab has about three more inches for the wheelbase but only increases the length by 0.3 inches. Width also stays about the same, but height has increased significantly with the 2023 model around eight inches taller.
Ground clearance for the ZR2 model has improved by nearly ten inches with the 2023 model offering 10.7 inches. The approach angle has also increased for all trims with the 2023 Colorado. The interior is about the same for both years with the 2023 model slightly smaller in certain areas and larger when it comes to legroom.
Comparing Strength For 2022 and 2023
Payload has increased for the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado over the 2022 model year. For the WT and LT trims, the change is from 1540 pounds to 1684 pounds while the Z71 goes up almost 100 pounds. Towing capacity is the same for the two model years except with the ZR2, which saw an increase of 1000 pounds to reach 6000-pound max towing.
The biggest change between the two models is the new power train. Chevy eliminated the 3.6L V6 LGZ and the Turbodiesel 2.8L I4 LWN engines in favor of the turbo 2.7L I4 with three different tunes. The largest outperforms the turbo diesel of the previous model. Maximum horsepower is similar with the 2023 model year offering 310 horses over 308 for the 2022 model in the V6 engine. Torque increases significantly from 369 lb.-ft on the turbo diesel to 430 lb.-ft with the Turbo High-Output 2.7L I4.
