1. Bunker Hills Golf Course

Golf Digest voted Bunker Hills Golf Course one of the top 25 public courses in the country. One of the unique features of Bunker Hills is the 75 bunkers golfers have to contend with, although the wide tree-lined fairways do offer some respite. The original course was 18 holes; however, a further 9 holes were added, with each of the three 9 hole rounds having a par 36. Bunker Hills also offers four state-of-the-art golf simulators in its Golf Simulator Center.

2. Brightwood Golf Course 

Brighthouse Golf Course offers a par 30, 1,538-yard nine-hole golf course that is the perfect place to sneak in a quick round. The course has mature trees and water obstacles on several holes that gofers will have to work around. Brightwood is the perfect place for juniors and beginners to learn the basics of the game, with golf lessons available. Although leagues are available, groups are also welcome to start their own.

3. Hampton Hills Golf & Country Club

The Hampton Hills Golf & Country Club is set against 209 acres of rolling hills which make for a picturesque backdrop. The course has been designed to blend into the natural beauty of the area. One of the notable features is the challenging terrain, with the elevation changes ensuring that every round is unique. The elegant clubhouse offers a dining room with views over the 18th green and serves breakfasts and lunches daily. 

4. Edinburgh USA Golf Course

This championship golf course should be on every golfer’s bucket list. The course hosted one of the LPGA tour events for several years and in 1992 hosted the USGA Public Links. In 2014, Edinburgh underwent a facelift that saw the addition of more fairway grass and the redesign of the bunkers. The state-of-the-art practice facility at the course incorporating a short game facility and practice range makes it the ideal place to hone your golfing skills.

5. Hiawatha Golf Course

Hiawatha Golf Course is a par 73, 3,379-yard course. It provides golfers with several challenging water features in the form of 12 ponds, a creek, and a lake. Mature trees, flat fairways, and small greens are other features golfers will have to contend with, and with 30 sand traps scattered around the course, this course is no walk in the park. The course is open from sunrise to sunset over summer, with special memberships available for the under 18s and over 55s.
